Torque difference of trap bar and regular barbell
Swinton team made a comparison of the ultimate joint torque between traditional and trap bar dead lift ranges 10-80% at 1RM in 2011, the objects dead lift in average:
Traditional barbell: 244.5kg
Trap bar: 265kg
In traditional dead lift, the ultimate hip flexion torque is 353Nm, while the ultimate bend torque is 96Nm, ultimate hip and knee torque rate is: 3.68:1.
While in trap bar dead lift, the ultimate hip flexion is 325.6Nm, ultimate bend torque is 182.5Nm, and the ultimate hip knee torque rate is: 1.78:1
